Lovely cafe we found by chance, but has some lovely food and the staff are friendly and polite, so we've no doubts about going back! Lovely sandwiches and toasties and the home-cut fried potatoes are a great addition to the meal!

Called in on the 1st Feb for a bite to eat and a drink. It was full, but after a short wait, got a table. Had the Soup of the day and a drink, followed by a pudding. All the staff were very attentive and pleasant. Short wait for the soup, but worth the wait. Absolutely home made. Highly recommended. Thank you for a nice occasion, we will be back.

Stumbled upon this unassuming bistro while looking for lunch in Penrith. No-frills, casual spot serving unpretentious, delicious food at honest prices. Friendly service too. Glad we picked this spot!

EAT HERE. This is a superb little bistro in Penrith. Right by the church. The food was really good and the prices VERY reasonable. Ignore the other "milk" review. This family operated bistro served an excellent steak, provided great service, and is a credit to Penrith.

Really nice place. Bacon roll with pot of tea today, in the past have had full breakfast. All excellent. Dog friendly. Spotlessly clean. Good facilities and WiFi. Local atmosphere people know each other but friendly to strangers. Chap who chats to the customers took an interest in my learning Spanish. Then brought another staff member who spoke Spanish over to my table to say hello. Smashing.

After having a wander round Penrith we decided to stop here for lunch and after a quick scout through the menu we were sold. I opted for the vegetarian club sandwich (hummus, grilled peppers, toms and carrots) which I 100% recommend and the soup of the day. My husband had the chilli jam, sausage and cheese grilled sandwich and I’ve never seen his plate left so clean! The service was fab and the whole place had a lovely feel to it. If you ever find yourself hungry in Penrith then I definitely recommend this cafe, the food was delicious all round! I had already eaten half of my lunch before taking the picture but thought I’d share it anyway!

First visit with a friend for a bite to eat whilst attending an event in town. Located within Devonshire Arcade, it's a wonderfully inviting cafe. It has a quaint but modern interior with ample tables of varying sizes inside and a few in a space out in the Arcade, too. Along with the menu on the table, there's a large specials board giving a fabulous choice. We opted for sausage and bacon sourdough rolls with fried potato pieces and chilli jam. The best sourdough I've had in ages and those potato pieces were so crispy. I had an infusing pot of fragrant Earl Grey tea, and we might have spotted the cake. So, a slice of fabulous lemon drizzle cake with poppy seeds was enjoyed. The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful, and answered all our questions. So reasonably priced, too. There's WiFi for customers which was essential for us to extend our parking so we didn't miss that cake. There's plenty of parking available around the town. We opted for Bluebell Lane. The premises are accessible including the facilities that were spacious and clean. We would definitely eat here again. The town of Penrith is accessible by train and bus. It's well situated just off the M6 (J40), the A66, and the A6 if you're driving.
